Accessibility statement
Effective October 2, 2026
Our goal
We want everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or reduced motion, to be able to use this site. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we've done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link. The scene switcher works with the arrow keys, and Escape closes the mobile menu.
- Text colors are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Every chart has an equivalent data table for screen readers, and every animation has a text description or caption.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, animations stop or show a still frame. Animations pause when scrolled off screen, and the live demo feed has a pause button.
- The site works without cookies, accounts or plug-ins.
Known limitations
The animated map scenes are visual illustrations. Their key information is also in the text around them, but fine details on the maps aren't individually described. Some external sites we link to may not meet the same standard.
How we test
We test with the axe-core accessibility engine on desktop and mobile layouts, and check keyboard navigation by hand. Last reviewed October 2, 2026.
